OK, I thought I was over my Betta Binge ... but guess not! Really, these little ACEOs are great practice for getting comfortable with the various betta fins, tails and scales ... once I am really comfortable with those things, I'll begin work on the mermaid ... correction, Betta Mermaid! Of course, she will be larger than an ACEO ... an idea is formulating in my brain and once it is ready to be put on paper I will begin. In the meantime .... more Bettas!
"Bitty Betta #5"
The orginal ACEO is available in my eBay Store:
Open Edition ACEO Art Prints are for sale in my Etsy Shop:
Happy day everyone!

I bought some aceo's but haven't used them yet. I wondered if I bought the wrong ones, as they just seem like little cuts of mat-board. Am I crazy, or is that simply what they are? Really lovely betas!
ReplyDeleteThey very well could be Kyra. As long as they are 2.5" x 3.5" they would be considered ACEO sized. There are no hard and fast rules that apply to ACEOs except the size. I've seen them on canvas, paper, material, woven, wood ... whatever the artist wants to use.
DeleteI always cut all of my own paper, that way I get better quality paper and paper I am familiar with.
I like to use them when I am trying out new techniques. Don't waste a lot of paper that way and usually end up with a little piece of art that I can sell! 8)
I really like the pose on this one. Bettas look so majestic! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie! I often think that when God created Bettas, He must have been thinking of fairies ... 8)
