"Fan Tail Bitty Betta"

I am having fun mixing watercolor pencils, colored pencils and artist ink pens.  This little art piece has been created on Stonehenge art paper; Stonehenge paper is marvelous because it doesn't warp when water is applied to it ... well, it does warp a bit when wet but as soon as it dries the paper is once again flat.  ACEOs are a marvelous and fun way to practice new techniques.  So I will probably be creating quite a few this month!  Today's ACEO is titled:

"Bitty Betta #2" a fan tail siamese fighting fish...

The original ACEO is for sale in my eBay shop at this link:

Open Edition ACEO art prints are available in my Etsy Shop at this link:

Happy day everybody!

  2. The Fan Tail Bitty Beta is beautiful, I love the colors! When you said you're working with water color pencils what brand are you using? I've been thinking of getting some Derwent Inktense pencils and was wondering if you're tried them. I don't believe I've ever used Stonehenge paper, guess there are a lot of things I've yet to discover. Have fun working on your wonderful ACEOs. Hugs

    1. Hi Maddy Rose! I have a set of "General Kimberly" watercolor pencils and a set of "Derwent Inktense" pencils. I really like the Inktense pencils!

I have a couple different types of watercolor paper; heard about Stonehenge from another blog artist and tried it out and loved it! Stonehenge is perfect for watercolor and colored pencils combos, has a smaller tooth than standard watercolor paper so the colored pencils are easier to apply.

I am having fun working on the ACEOs .... gonna try for one more Betta today, but I have to go shopping today, so not sure if I get one completed ... but I can get one started! 8)
