Some New Colored Pencil ACEO's

I am learning some new colored pencil techniques from a book I recently purchased titled "Colored Pencil Painting Bible" by Alyona Nickelsen.   Ms. Nickelsen brings the dynamics of colored pencils to a wonderful new level.  I know I will never be able to accomplish work like hers ... but I am certain I will learn to improve!

  4. What surprised me most, was the use of a white pencil to blend colors (in the cherries) .... I would never have thought to do that ....

  6. You are correct Stacy ... its 100% cotton paper by Stonehenge that is made especially for colored pencil work. Takes a wash and doesn't buckle! Besides blending with a white pencil and a non-color blender Ms. Nickelsen also demonstrates how to blend with mineral spirits! Who'da thought? The corn and its background was blended using the mineral spirits wash....

  7. Karen Anne,

Nice! I'm always working with colored pencil (usually a combination of colored pencil with watercolors) -- though I didn't know about the stonehenge paper!

I'll have to give it a try!
