Beach Scene WIP - Day 9

I spent today working mostly on the little girl's pink sweat shirt, not sure but I may have put in too many folds.  I changed her slacks from red to jean blue, there is a section in the book "Colored Picture Portraits - Step by Step" by Ann Kullberg that provides steps to coloring jeans and I want to try it out.  I have just begun working on the jeans, will probably get them finished tomorrow and maybe have time for the hands, the feather and the shoe ... we'll see!

Her face and hair are still covered with the clear plastic masking paper (fisker).

Happy Day!

  2. Indeed I am, Debbie, indeed I am!

The little trick about the jeans is to first put in the seam lines in goldenrod and then, using an indigo blue pencil & slate blue, mark little V notches on either side of the goldenrod line to denote the denim "pucker" ... at first it looks odd, but then when you start applying a series of different blues and grays it begins to take on the look of denim. Isn't that marvelously fun!?

  3. WOW!!!! Thanks for sharing the tricks about the jeans ;o) Hugs ;o) Oh, I have to admit, now, seeing the pink shirt against the sand, I understand why your hubby said about making the color less rich. He is a smarty! ;o)
